Deb’s inspired journey into wisdom, ecological sustainability and an honoring of Earth and Body as sacred has lead her to a Masters of Arts in Environmental Leadership from Naropa University (2004) in addition to her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Boston University (1997).   She has been on the path of spiritual unfolding for many years, having delved into the mystical Christian, Buddhist and Hindu traditions through both academic study as well as time in monasteries and retreat centers in the US, Europe and India.

Deb blends her passions for Earth and Spirit into a distinctive approach to Classical Hatha Yoga imbued with a meditative emphasis.  Her style of yoga is deeply rooted in unraveling the capacity to cultivate love in the face of perceived limitations. Deb brings a deep desire to soulfully connect students to a grounded seat of awareness and spaciousness through her yoga classes and workshops.

Deborah studied yoga in Boulder, Colorado with Sofia Diaz, a widely recognized teacher influenced by South Indian sacred temple dance, a tradition deeply honoring the profound heart strength of the feminine form.  Deborah also studied with Nataraja Kallio, head of the Yoga Teachers Training Program at Naropa University.  She received her Yoga Teacher Training certification from the Shambhava School of Classical Hatha Yoga in Colorado.

Deb lives and teaches in Portland, Oregon, where she currently works for the Northwest Earth Institute, a Portland based ecological non-profit promoting voluntary simplicity and sustainable lifestyle.
