Deb’s teaching philosophy orients around three central themes:

Openness, Authenticity and Love.

Deb’s classes, workshops and private sessions are rooted in the practice of staying grounded in the present moment, continually coming back to the breath.

Through this focus coupled with the natural unfolding process of the asanas, which are one’s literal ‘seat’ in relationship with the totality of experience, a spaciousness emerges even in the face of perceived obstacles or limitations.

Deb invites her students to dedicate themselves to unfolding into greater openness and self-compassion.  She offers the possibility of the continued practice of enjoying one’s experience exactly as it arises, the experience of being in love, moment to moment.

As personal habits are confronted, accepted and embraced on the mat, the practice of yoga (a ‘yoking’ or ‘union’ with what is) offers a purification process for the subtle physical, emotional and mental toxicity many unknowingly carry in their day to day lives.

As students establish a stronger sense of spaciousness in relation with exactly what is arising in each moment, the steady strength and clarity of the Heart is magnified.

The realm of bodily feeling and moment to moment love is the realm of the Heart.

It is in this realm that one is able to sustain authenticity of word, action and presence.

Deb fosters an intentional space for her students to show up more completely with this larger sense of authenticity, dedication and commitment to themselves and their yoga practice, choosing with each practice what they wish to carry with them into the rest of their lives.

With time, the practice of yoga becomes a living, continually arising reality, where there is no separation between self, the asana, the mat, and the rest of one’s life.

Deb’s deepest desire is to offer a sacred space of practice, where her students can grow in capacity to live in the world with profound grace, integrity, soulfulness and love.
